Katie arrived as a volunteer in 2017 and is teaching English for a second school year in the villages of Agua Caliente Nueva and Punta Pérula. She also coordinates and teaches adult English classes for Careyes personnel. Outside of the classroom, she is committed to helping the Foundation continue to grow through grantwriting and administrative support. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, she graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Economics and a minor in Spanish. In her free time, Katie participates in the adult choir at the Foundation’s Music School and enjoys spending as much time outdoors as she possibly can.
