We’re Back! English Classes Returned in September with More Energy Than Ever

Hello, The Careyes Foundation community!

Despite the challenges brought by recent hurricanes and storms, we were delighted to return to the 12 communities we serve this September. English classes are back in all 12 elementary schools, bringing learning directly to local children.

To provide the best possible education, our teachers took part in intensive training to align their lessons with the guidelines of Mexico’s New Mexican School (Nueva Escuela Mexicana). We’ll continue offering one hour of English instruction per group each week, with dedication and care.

We’ve also resumed our afternoon extracurricular program in:

  • Agua Caliente, serving nearby communities including Miguel Hidalgo Viejo, Miguel Hidalgo Nuevo, and Agua Caliente Vieja.

  • San Mateo, serving Chamela and Pérula, Jalisco.

  • The House of Culture in Emiliano Zapata, serving Francisco Villa and Emiliano Zapata.

This program helps prepare students to continue their studies through Jalisco Bilingüe, where their hard work and commitment can lead to official diplomas.

We’re also happy to share how meaningful it was to celebrate our recent Annual Dinner. It was a special opportunity to connect with school principals and state and federal supervisors whose support helps this project continue to grow.

Thank you to all the families, teachers, and local authorities for your continued support. Together, we’re working toward a brighter future for our communities.

With gratitude and commitment,

Lic. Carmen Huerta
