Caring for Our Coast: A Community Effort
Caring for our coast is a true team effort—and this past year, our community showed just how much can be achieved when people come together for a shared purpose.
Over the past year, 163 volunteers joined 15 beach cleanups across eight coastal sites. Together, we removed approximately 302 kilograms of waste from our beaches, helping protect the places we love and the marine life that depends on them.
In 2026, we were proud to partner with Fundación Sol Pacífico, which secured the SEMARNAT Adopta Una Playaprogram with support from Tetra Pak. This collaboration has enabled us to organize monthly cleanups in Punta Pérula, expanding our impact through activities such as an underwater cleanup and a Trash Fishing Tournament. These events are practical, hands-on ways to keep waste out of the ocean while bringing attention to the importance of healthy coastal ecosystems.
None of this would be possible without the people and organizations who show up, contribute, and inspire others. We are especially grateful to the local schools, Alegre Scuba Republic, Centro Comunitario CompArte, Tuesday Band, and the Municipality of La Huerta for being part of these efforts.
Every bag collected, every cleanup organized, and every volunteer who gives their time makes a meaningful difference. Protecting our coast takes all of us—communities, organizations, businesses, and individuals working side by side.
