On January 14, we set out on a community bike ride in the beautiful village of San Mateo. With about 25 students and five parent volunteers, we rode past farms, herds of cattle, and rivers. The ride was difficult, with many steep hills and rocky dirt roads, but the students demonstrated amazing perseverance and stamina. When we arrived back to the center of the village, we met a parent volunteer who had prepared a ceviche lunch for all of the participants. We relaxed, ate, and played in the soccer field before heading home. All of our participants had a wonderful day soaking in the fresh air and enjoying the natural landscape of San Mateo!
