The children and families in our community were hit hard by the economic impact of Covid-19. After the Secretary of Education for the state of Jalisco suspended in-person classes on March 17th, we consulted with the local government and determined that around 1,000 families were going hungry in our area as a result of lockdown measures. We focused entirely on addressing this emergency.

We provided 4,800 packages of food to over 1,000 families, most of whom have kids in our programs, effectively sustaining thousands of people for a period of four months. Additionally, we did a campaign to combat misinformation about Covid-19, sharing prevention methods, and creating activities and resources for kids and families to provide nurturing, healthy, and constructive environments at home.
