Sarah Lerman
Director
Sarah manages both the daily operations and the strategic planning of the Foundation. In addition to handling the administration of the organization, she oversees all staff, manages the budget, develops programs and events, and implements new initiatives. Sarah joined the Careyes Foundation in 2015 as a volunteer English teacher, and she continues to teach in the elementary school in the village of Chamela.
Sarah earned a B.A. in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California, where she also studied Occupational Therapy. She has over twenty years of experience working with children in various settings, from summer camps and mentorship organizations to academic tutoring and program management. Originally from Washington State, Sarah loves spending time with her family and in the outdoors, taking every opportunity to appreciate the beautiful nature that surrounds us in Careyes!
